When you care to asses the quality of a movie you either do it by judging the movie as a faith flick or a movie which is among other main stream releases. When the Game Stands Tall serves the purpose of being a faith flick and does well on its part to inspire you, motivate you! And not only the faith part or may be the genre make this movie a must watch but the concept and the characters being portrayed on the screen pushes you equally to watch it. With compelling backdrops and storyline, this movie is an ultimate powerhouse of motivation and inspiration.
The movie is based on the true story of a California high school team and their 151 game winning streak which is a national record in the American sports history. Carrying this glorious win the team faces differences between them and their priorities and how they lost the honour.
What's even more interesting about this movie is that it tries to convey not only the expected but rather philosophical thoughts namely when the coach says “We don’t expect you to play perfect, but to give a perfect effort.” Movie starts to gain momentum when team and the coach starts to face some challenges both during the play and off play. It becomes straight then and team players start learning about basics of life and hard work. It teaches how god can help us during the hard times and how honouring him can literally show positive results. The movie leaves no gap in inspiring its audiences and the plot does justice to the money spent.
However, there were some gaps between the plot though because it lacks sense of family which goes well with the sports flicks. But never the less, movie is a great watch and certainly deserves a thumbs up!
