They are always fighting with each other, but sometimes fight for each other's dreams also. It is difficult to know the depth of the a love brother and a sister shares, unless such situation comes. Not just a Festival -Raksha Bandhan signifies everlasting love, emotions and eternal bonding between Brother and Sister.

"Somewhere, in a desolate street....
He moved his hand forward...
She tied a string to the empty wrist...
The day was Raksha Bandhan...." - Written by Nalini Ranjan Nirad

According to the Indian tradition, the family members get ready for the rituals early in the morning. Along with these rituals, the following mantras are chanted to pray for the long life of the brother:

“Suraj shakhan chhodian, Mooli chhodia beej
Behen ne rakhi bandhi / Bhai tu chir jug jee”,
Its literal translation is:
“The sun radiates its sunlight, the radish spreads its seeds,
I tie the rakhi to you O brother and wish that may you live long.”

"Doorbell rang....
he went and collected the parcel...
Doorbell rang....
She went and collected the parcel....
In one box , was a Rakhi...
In another , a token OF LOVE....." - Written by Nalini Ranjan Nirad

Rituals like Rakhi, there is no doubt, help ease out various societal strains, induce fellow-feeling, open up channels of expression, give us an opportunity to rework on our role as human beings and, most importantly, bring joy in our mundane lives.

I'll conclude with a video that every brother and sister must watch this Raksha Bandhan!

Cheers guys and Happy Raksha Bandhan (:
